Primary Focus:
COTA Supervision, Evaluations & IEP Consultation Qualifications Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE-accredited program Active Washington State Occupational Therapist license issued by the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) Active Washington Educational Staff Associate (ESA) Initial or Continuing Certificate in Occupational Therapy issued by OSPI (or eligibility) Current NBCOT certification (OTR) Minimum of 2+ years of experience (school-based and/or virtual supervision preferred) Demonstrated experience providing clinical supervision and oversight to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) in an educational setting Strong understanding of Washington State COTA supervision regulations, scope of practice, and delegation guidelines Comfortable navigating telepractice platforms, remote file reviews, and digital IEP systems Key Responsibilities COTA Supervision & Clinical Oversight Provide required direct and indirect clinical supervision for district Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) in accordance with Washington State DOH and OSPI rules Review, co-sign, and provide clinical feedback on COTA daily treatment notes, data sheets, and quarterly progress updates Conduct regular virtual supervisory check-ins, case reviews, and treatment plan discussions to ensure fidelity of service delivery Observe teletherapy or onsite treatment sessions virtually to support COTA clinical growth and intervention quality Evaluation & Program Planning Conduct virtual comprehensive initial evaluations, three-year re-evaluations, and functional fine motor/sensory assessments Interpret standardized assessment data and draft comprehensive evaluation summaries with targeted educational recommendations Formulate individualized plans of care, treatment goals, and accommodation strategies, determining appropriate tasks to delegate to supervised COTAs IEP & Multidisciplinary Collaboration Attend and participate actively in virtual IEP team meetings, multidisciplinary evaluation reviews, and Section 504 conferences Collaborate with special education teachers, related service teams, administrators, and parents to align OT interventions with academic success Provide consultative strategies to school personnel regarding sensory accommodations, positioning, and adaptive tools Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate supervisory logs, service records, and compliance documentation for all supervised caseload minutes Ensure all evaluations, treatment plans, and delegated COTA services comply strictly with Washington State special education rules (WAC 392-172A) and IDEA guidelines Monitor caseload timelines to ensure re-evaluations and IEP goal progress reports are submitted promptly Benefits & Compensation 1099 Independent Contractor Status Flexible part-time schedule (up to 14 hours/week) Compensation for both Direct & Indirect Service Hours (including full supervisory and documentation time)
Estimated Pay Range:
