DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Determines and completes appropriate evaluation of referred students. Provide direct treatment to students qualifying. Evaluate each referred student and regularly re-evaluate students receiving occupational therapy. Provide consultation to educational staff and parents. Maintain appropriate records and charts of progress in the Occupational/Physical Therapy program. Function as part of a multi-disciplinary team in making placement decisions and program recommendations. Develop Individual Education Programs and treatment plans. Maintain communications with appropriate outside agencies and physicians. Maintain and adapt equipment. Assist other personnel, with related tasks, as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities and for the enhancement of daily operations of the school district.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in using standardized assessment tools. Must be able to develop and implement appropriate intervention for students with orthopedic, neurological or specific learning difficulties. Should have knowledge of and/or experience in developing Individual Educational Programs. Must have knowledge of and/or experience in use of treatment techniques including: neuro-developmental treatment, rehabilitation techniques, therapeutic exercise, perceptual techniques, self-help techniques, current technology etc.). Must be able to work as part of a team (of peers, educational staff, parents, etc.). Must be able to communicate with a variety of individuals (i.e.: parents, physicians, other staff, administrators, etc.) clearly and concisely both orally and in writing. Ability to independently organize work schedules. Certificates/Licenses Must meet Washington ESA certification requirements. Continuing Education/Training Continuing Safe Schools training as assigned through Tahoma Human Resources Required Testing None Clearances Criminal justice background clearance through fingerprint record TERMS This position is represented by the Tahoma Education Association and terms are subject to the current negotiated agreement.
