Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Washington State Education Staff Associate Certificate, endorsed in Special Education as an orientation and mobility instructor Experience delivering orientation and mobility instruction to students across K-12 settings Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with a commitment to inclusive education Comfortable traveling to various school campuses to best support students needs Ability to start promptly and continue through the end of the school year in
June Key Responsibilities:
Assess student needs and develop individualized orientation and mobility instructional plans Deliver direct instruction on safe and effective navigation techniques for students with visual impairments Collaborate with teachers, families, and special education teams to ensure comprehensive support and integration within the classroom and campus Travel between multiple school sites to provide consistent, high-quality services to students Maintain thorough documentation on student progress and program outcomes This opportunity provides a rewarding path for Orientation and Mobility Specialists ready to take on a varied caseload and make a difference in students' daily lives.
