9683231-53132 Job Description Make a positive impact in a school setting with an opportunity tailored for a highly skilled Occupational Therapist (OT). This incredibly part-time assignment is located near Franklin, WI, and offers exceptional scheduling flexibilityjust 45 minutes per week, which you can arrange any time between 9:30 am and 2:45 pm. Youll provide critical support for a kindergarten student who is nonverbal, on the autism spectrum, developmentally delayed, and uses an AAC device for communication. The student is in a self-contained environment and has a history of self-harm, calling for strong OT skills, patience, and a compassionate approach.
Qualifications:
Current, valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license in Wisconsin Experience delivering OT services within school settings, particularly to younger children Familiarity and comfort working with students with significant developmental delays and autism spectrum disorders Knowledge of and experience with AAC devices, nonverbal communication, and self-contained classroom environments Ability to develop and follow individualized treatment plans for students with complex needs Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with educators and caregivers
Responsibilities:
Provide targeted OT interventions as prescribed in the students IEP, focused on optimizing access to the curriculum and daily school routines Develop and adapt strategies and materials to facilitate the students participation, safety, and well-being Collaborate with classroom staff and other specialists to integrate therapeutic activities into daily instruction Maintain accurate documentation and communicate progress with the educational team This contract, highly flexible assignment is perfect for OTs seeking supplemental hours or wishing to make a meaningful difference with specialized skills.
