Rehab Aide |
San Francisco Center Schedule:
Onsite at our San Francisco center, 5 days a week, approximately 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, about 30 hours a week. No on-call.
Pay:
$22 to $25 per hour Do you light up a room and love spending your day with older adults? Institute on Aging is looking for a Rehab Aide who brings warmth, patience, and genuine care to every participant they work with, and we're just as interested in your personality as your resume. In this role, you'll work hand in hand with our physical and occupational therapists to help participants stay active and mobile. You'll get to know the same group of about 30 participants over time, building real relationships as you support their exercise plans day after day. What You'll Do Guide participants through routine therapeutic exercises and gait/ambulation programs set by the treating therapist Provide functional transfer training and help with activities of daily living Lead specialized exercise groups and apply treatment modalities as directed Keep daily documentation and treatment flow sheets up to date, and prepare the daily treatment schedule board Monitor equipment, flag any repair or reordering needs, and keep the gym clean and organized Build genuine, friendly relationships with participants, families, and visitors What You Bring A warm, easygoing, and reliable presence, the kind of person others can count on A self-starter who's comfortable working under a therapist's direction without needing constant supervision Genuine passion for working with older adults, not just experience on paper High school diploma or GED 1 year of experience with a geriatric population Comfort with the physical side of the job: lifting up to 25 lbs, pushing/pulling/maneuvering up to 50 lbs, reaching, bending, and walking through your shift
