1 Description American Traveler is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for a 13-week acute care travel assignment in Wichita, Kansas, requiring active KS licensure and BLS certification. Details Acute care hospital setting with a large therapy team supporting a wide variety of diagnosis groups OT department with a daily census of approximately 250 active consults 2:1 OTR to COTA staffing ratio Typical caseload of 9-13 patients assigned per COTA per day Uses general acute care DME equipment Meditech EMR system Day shift schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM 13-week assignment length Requirements Active Kansas COTA license required if applicable BLS certification required Minimum 6 months of acute care hospital OT experience required within the last 6 months Trauma experience preferred Comprehensive stroke experience preferred US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months Additional Information Perform OT treatments for a diverse acute care patient population Work independently with minimal oversight and high accountability Strong communication and collaboration skills required to work with interdisciplinary team Flexibility needed given the fast-paced nature of acute care practice Staff enjoy autonomy in care planning alongside the interdisciplinary team Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, no local candidates accepted One professional reference required for consideration
