Responsibilities Assess patients' physical and occupational needs through detailed evaluations, utilizing your knowledge of physiology and anatomy. Develop and implement tailored treatment plans that align with each patient's goals, medical condition, and therapy requirements. Perform manual handling techniques safely to assist with patient mobility, weight handling, and therapeutic exercises. Utilize technical proficiency with therapy equipment and medical terminology to deliver effective interventions. Conduct therapy sessions across various settings including pediatrics, geriatrics, inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and post-acute care environments. Monitor patient progress regularly, adjusting treatment strategies to optimize outcomes while adhering to occupational health standards. Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions, progress notes, and treatment plans in compliance with healthcare regulations. Ensure safety protocols are followed during all procedures, including CPR certification requirements for emergency preparedness. Qualifications Valid licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). Demonstrated experience in occupational therapy within academic or clinical settings is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and manual handling techniques. Experience working with diverse populations such as pediatrics, geriatrics, or patients requiring sub-acute or post-acute care. Proven ability to perform weight handling in the workplace safely and effectively. Familiarity with outpatient clinics, inpatient units, and clinic-based therapy practices. CPR certification and adherence to occupational health standards are essential. Technical proficiency with therapy tools and electronic health records systems is preferred.
