JOB SUMMARY
The Activities Assistant at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for supporting the activity program under the guidance of the nursing team and Occupational Therapist(s) to provide high quality and efficient patient care. This includes delivering personal care to patients and collaborating to plan, implement, and assess programming and patient conditions. This role operates under the supervision of nursing and Occupational Therapy providers and engages strong organizational and communication skills to manage area supplies and equipment, maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation, and interface effectively and professionally with staff and patients to support provision of a high quality patient experience. |

Patient Care:
  • Performs assigned tasks as appropriate under the supervision of a nurse.
  • Performs personal care skills following classroom instruction and/or competency validation.
Documentation:
  • Documents as appropriate in computer system.
Activities of Daily Living:
  • Performs assigned tasks as appropriate to meet personal needs and comfort of patients.
Activity Services:
  • Assists the Occupational Therapist in planning, implementing, and evaluating the program's events, themes, schedules, etc.
Resident Assessments:
  • Supports the initial and ongoing assessment of residents' conditions and activity needs by advising and consulting with the Occupational Therapist.
Supplies/Materials:
  • Organizes, stores, maintains, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS
