Community Alliance, offering an integrated health care approach and built on an array of mental health and primary care services, is seeking a Residential Rehabilitation Specialist I. Ideal candidates will have a passion for working with vulnerable populations and be comfortable collaborating with other professionals to empower clients to achieve self-defined goals. An individual employed in this position works in a residential setting as a member of a collaborative team, and is responsible for the provision of direct and collateral services, including group and individual teaching and coaching, which promotes skill development and personal recovery for persons with serious mental illness and co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders.
Current available shifts include:
Part time- Friday-3pm-11pm Saturdays-7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm Sundays-7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm Positively assess individual mental health, co-occurring disorders, and functional strengths and needs. Develop and implement plans for goal achievement and evaluate short-term and long-term progress on a regular and continuous basis in accordance with program policies and standards. In collaboration with persons served regularly plan and participate in group social-recreational activities as part of the rehabilitative program and process. Regularly plan with and provide training to persons served in planning and preparation of nutritious meals and snacks. Actively assist persons served in utilizing primary health services, including preventative care and annual physicals, and encourage participation in health and wellness activities. Assist persons served in identification, acquisition, utilization, and maintenance of appropriate community resources including social, behavioral health, vocational, and recreation services. Bachelor's degree in human service-related field, or two years post-high school course work in a human services field plus two years relevant experience/training of a professional nature. Demonstrated knowledge and skills in mental health rehabilitation and recovery principles, service delivery, and behavior intervention/management practices on a direct service level. Basic knowledge of characteristics and needs of persons with serious mental illness, including persons with co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds, persons with serious mental illness and co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders, family members, behavioral health professionals, government representatives, and the public at large. Ability to initiate and complete tasks in areas of responsibility with moderate supervision. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. Ability and willingness to work varied shifts and schedules, including evenings, weekends, overnights, and holidays as assigned. Possession of valid driver's license and good driving record, or ability to arrange for reliable transportation. #indeed
