Rehabilitation Technician (Rehab Tech) Position Summary The Rehabilitation Technician (Rehab Tech) supports the therapy department by assisting physical, occupational, and speech therapists with non-clinical patient care activities, treatment preparation, equipment management, and administrative duties. This role is essential in helping the rehabilitation team provide efficient, high-quality care while maintaining a safe and organized treatment environment. Essential Responsibilities Prepare treatment areas and therapy equipment before and after therapy sessions. Clean, sanitize, and organize therapy equipment according to infection control standards. Assist with transporting residents to and from therapy sessions as directed. Support therapists during treatment sessions with non-skilled tasks under their supervision. Maintain therapy supplies and notify the Director of Rehabilitation of inventory needs. Assist with wheelchair, walker, and adaptive equipment setup. Complete routine clerical duties, including filing, scanning, copying, and organizing therapy documentation. Schedule therapy appointments and communicate with nursing staff regarding resident availability. Maintain accurate logs of equipment maintenance and cleaning. Ensure therapy gym and treatment areas remain clean, safe, and organized. Assist with new resident room setup related to therapy equipment when appropriate. Follow all facility policies, HIPAA regulations, and infection prevention protocols. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Rehabilitation. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Previous experience in healthcare, rehabilitation, fitness, or a skilled nursing environment preferred. CPR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain). Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with older adults and interdisciplinary healthcare teams. Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, transfer, push, and pull up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and assisting with mobility equipment. Ability to safely transport residents using wheelchairs and other mobility devices.
