1 Description American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapy Assistant for a Long Term Care position in Abilene, TX, requiring 2 years of LTC experience and a TX or compact license. Details Long Term Care (LTC) setting within the Occupational Therapy unit Day shift, 8-hour shifts, 40 hours guaranteed No weekend or on-call requirements 13-week assignment Requirements Minimum 2 years OTA experience in a LTC setting required TX or compact OTA license required, if applicable DOR (Director of Rehab) experience preferred Additional Information Execute specialized therapy plans designed by the OT to guide patients through therapeutic exercises and activities improving motor skills and coordination Train patients in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and eating using adaptive techniques Instruct patients and families on adaptive equipment use such as reachers, mobility aids, and modified utensils Document patient progress, behavioral changes, and safety concerns for the supervising OT Provide emotional support and caregiver training for home programs Prepare treatment areas, clean equipment, and assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling and billing Compact license accepted
