$____ per hour (Based on experience) Now Hiring a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP)! Alpha's House is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) to join our Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) Day Support Program serving adults with serious mental illness. This is an excellent opportunity for a mental health professional who is passionate about recovery, enjoys facilitating groups, and wants to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals working toward greater independence. Our PSR program focuses on helping individuals develop coping skills, social skills, independent living skills, emotional regulation, community integration, and symptom management in a structured, supportive clubhouse environment. Position Summary The QMHP will provide direct psychosocial rehabilitation services, facilitate therapeutic and psychoeducational groups, assist participants in achieving Individual Service Plan (ISP) goals, complete Medicaid-compliant documentation, and support participants in developing the skills necessary for successful community living. Essential Responsibilities Facilitate daily Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) groups for adults with serious mental illness. Develop and lead engaging psychoeducational groups focused on: Coping skills Communication skills Social skills Independent living skills Emotional regulation Wellness and recovery Problem-solving Community integration Complete accurate and timely Medicaid-compliant documentation, including: Daily progress notes Monthly progress summaries Group documentation Behavioral observations Monitor participant progress toward Individual Service Plan (ISP) goals. Provide coaching, encouragement, and skill-building throughout the day. Utilize de-escalation techniques and therapeutic interventions when needed. Encourage participant independence while maintaining a safe and supportive environment. Assist with community outings and transportation as assigned. Collaborate with clinical staff, case managers, psychiatrists, therapists, and other providers. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and quality improvement activities. Minimum Qualifications Applicants must meet Virginia Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) requirements.
Preferred qualifications include:
Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, Counseling, Sociology, or a related behavioral health field.
Experience working with adults experiencing:
Serious Mental Illness (SMI) Schizophrenia Bipolar Disorder Depression Anxiety Disorders Trauma-related disorders Experience providing: Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) Community Mental Health Services Case Management Behavioral Health Services Psychiatric Rehabilitation Day Support Services Strong documentation and organizational skills. Excellent communication and group facilitation abilities. Valid Virginia driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to pass all required background screenings.
