Local rehabilitation clinic is hiring for an as needed with opportunity to grow to 15+ hour Part time/as needed Physical/Occupational Therapy Aide with receptionist duties position. We are looking for a highly motivated, positive and reliable individual with previous customer service and exercise experience. This candidate may also be requested to complete spanish/English treatment interpretation both verbal and written.
Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Greeting, taking patient to the gym or room and providing them the appropriate clothing to change into. Patient set-ups including applying hot packs, ice packs or paraffin Performing supervised modalities as directed by the Physical/Occupational Therapist or Assistant including electrical stimulation, ultrasound. Responsible for supervision of patient exercise programs developed by the Physical/Occupational Therapists or Assistants and monitoring of patients while using exercise equipment such as the stationary bicycle, treadmill, UBE, pulley system, etc. May include monitoring heart rate and blood pressure as directed by Physical/Occupational Therapist or Assistants. Responsible for safety and comfort of patients. Responsible for daily maintenance of the depart including: Cleaning treatment tables, mats and equipment. Equipment, tables, or mats used by patients have to be wiped down with an EPA approved cleaner after each patient use. Changing linens after each patient use. Straightening countertops, shelves, and cabinets. Managing clean and soiled laundry (washing, drying, folding and putting away) Re-stocking gym and rooms with towels, gowns, linens and supplies.
Janitorial/Maintenence Duties:
Communicate need for ordering supplies to Supervisor/Lead Aide. Maintaining/stocking supplies to all areas of the clinic as directed. Responsible for daily restroom and locker room cleanliness and stocking of toilet paper and paper towels. Garbage collection and removal. Daily cleaning/maintenance of hot water therapy pool Routine cleaning of hydrocollator and hot packs.
Administrative Assistance:
Fill in for and cover for receptionist as requested by the Supervisor. Answering telephones and returning messages including applicable documentation as needed. Rescheduling and managing patient appointments at the direction of the therapist and front office staff including the waitlist. Route or fax paperwork to physicians for approvals/signatures. Demonstrates competent computer skills in regards to general word processing, excel and scheduling, cancelling and re-scheduling patients as needed and directed by the therapist or supervisor. Maintain up to date working knowledge of insurance coverage and requirements. Uphold strict HIPPA confidentiality standards. Understand and comply with emergency evacuation procedures. Adhere to departmental patient handling, performance standards, and teamwork performance standards. Attend scheduled meetings. Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor, Department, or Office Manager.
Requirements:
Age 18 or older. High school diploma or GED. Bilingual verbal (Spanish) is required. Written is preferred but not required. One-year work experience in a medical/therapy clinic preferred, but not required. Interest in continuing education in Rehabilitation Therapy is preferred, but not required.
