Job Description

Encompass Health Corporation, a leader in both facility-based and home-based patient care, is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team. This position involves working in various settings, including inpatient rehabilitation hospitals and possibly supporting patients in home health scenarios. You will work under the supervision of an occupational therapist to help patients across all ages regain, develop, and improve skills needed for daily living and working that are impaired due to illness, injury, or disability. Responsibilities Assist occupational therapists in implementing treatment plans. Help patients perform therapeutic activities, such as stretches and other exercises. Record patient's progress and report to the occupational therapist. Educate patients and families on home programs and discharge plans. Maintain equipment and ensure the treatment area is clean and organized. Adapt to varying treatment scenarios as needed in both hospital and home settings. Required Skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to follow instructions and details from occupational therapists Knowledge of therapeutic practices and techniques Capability to handle physical tasks and assist patients physically
