The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide quality care to patients in various settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, and home health environments. This role is essential in helping patients regain their independence and improve their quality of life through tailored therapeutic interventions. Responsibilities Assist Occupational Therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients with various conditions, including geriatrics and outpatient therapy. Provide hands-on support to patients during therapy sessions, ensuring they understand exercises and techniques. Document patient progress and communicate effectively with the healthcare team regarding changes in patient status. Utilize medical terminology accurately while interacting with patients and other healthcare professionals. Maintain a clean and organized treatment area, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and ready for use. Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises and strategies to enhance recovery at home. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in occupational therapy. Requirements Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program. Knowledge of physiology and medical imaging techniques is preferred. Experience in geriatrics, outpatient therapy, inpatient care, clinic settings, or home health is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds. Familiarity with occupational health practices and medical terminology is a plus. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care. Commitment to providing compassionate care that promotes patient dignity and independence.
