This rewarding contract opportunity is available for a talented professional eager to collaborate with dedicated teams and help students achieve their full potential. The role is based near Oakland, CA, and supervision from a licensed occupational therapist is provided and fully supported.
Key Qualifications:
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license valid in California Recent experience or strong interest in school-based practice Ability to work independently, while collaborating closely with supervising OT and educational staff Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills Compassionate approach tailored to the needs of diverse student populations
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy services for students in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Implement treatment plans under the guidance and supervision of an occupational therapist Document therapy sessions and progress, contributing to evaluations and reports as required Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student participation in school routines and activities Assist with therapy-related equipment, accommodations, and classroom modifications to remove barriers to learning Maintain professional and ethical standards, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with district policies
