Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Enhance student success by bringing your expertise as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to a dynamic school environment near San Diego, California. This contract position invites dedicated professionals to make a direct impact on students' lives by facilitating their participation and growth within the classroom setting.
Key Qualifications:
Current certification as a COTA Active California licensure or eligibility Previous experience working with school-aged children, preferably in an educational or pediatric setting Familiarity with developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Ability to collaborate effectively with occupational therapists, educators, and support staff Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills Creative problem-solving mindset and adaptability within a diverse learning community
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist Support students in achieving functional goals related to academic performance and daily activities Deliver individualized and group therapy sessions as outlined in each student's IEP Track student progress and assist in maintaining thorough records and reports Collaborate with teachers and parents to support carry-over of strategies in the school and home settings Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on recommendations for student services This opportunity offers a pathway to broaden your professional skills and contribute to a positive, supportive school culture.
