The ideal candidate will work closely with occupational therapists to provide high-quality care to patient setting including home health . The COTA will assist patients in achieving their therapeutic goals by implementing treatment plans and supporting activities of daily living (ADLs). Duties Assist occupational therapists in implementing individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs. Support patients in performing ADLs, enhancing their independence and quality of life. Provide therapy services in home health scenarios. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and effective communication regarding progress and challenges. Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes in accordance with medical standards and facility protocols. Utilize knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to inform therapy practices and improve patient outcomes. Engage with geriatric patients to address age-related challenges while promoting physical and emotional well-being. Participate in the development of care plans that align with the goals set by the occupational therapist. Stay informed about best practices in occupational health and rehabilitation techniques relevant to various patient populations. Experience Candidates should possess experience or knowledge in the following areas: Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) for diverse patient populations. Home health settings, providing therapy services in patients' residences. Acute care environments, delivering immediate therapeutic interventions as needed. Medical imaging processes that may relate to therapy planning or assessment. Geriatric care principles, understanding the unique needs of older adults. Home Health or Skilled nursing facility experience that enhances understanding of long-term patient care dynamics. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant role is vital for enhancing patient recovery and well-being through dedicated support and therapeutic interventions across various healthcare settings.
