Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Expert Vocational Insights LLC Loveland, CO Job Details Part-time $30 - $40 an hour 4 days ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Occupational Therapy Assistant License Experience working with individuals with disabilities Driver's License Occupational Therapy Working with students Associate's degree in occupational therapy Organizational skills COTA Associate's degree Full Job Description Position Summary The Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) provides occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. The OTA works directly with Participants to implement individualized treatment plans that support functional independence, vocational readiness, and community reintegration. This role supports our practice's mission to help Participants and IWS achieve their vocational and personal goals. Required Credentials and Qualifications
  • Associate degree from an occupational therapy assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE)
  • Successful completion of the required fieldwork hours as part of the ACOTE-accredited program
  • Passing score on the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification exam for OTAs
  • Current Colorado state license as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, issued through the Colorado Office of Occupational Therapy Practice (Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies, DORA)
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Valid Colorado driver's license and reliable transportation, if travel between sites is required
  • Ability to pass a background check, per practice and contract requirements Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities, veterans, or transitional aged youth
  • Experience in vocational rehabilitation, work hardening, or return-to-work programs
  • Familiarity with benefits systems and disability claims processes
  • Bilingual ability a plus Key Responsibilities
  • Implement treatment plans established by the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Monitor Participant response to treatment and communicate progress, barriers, and outcomes to the supervising Provider
  • Document treatment sessions, progress, and required clinical information accurately in the electronic medical record
  • Record treatment minutes in compliance with regulatory and billing requirements
  • Assist Participants with therapeutic activities that support daily living skills, work readiness, and functional goals
  • Provide Participant and caregiver education on adaptive equipment, home programs, and community support resources
  • Contribute input to discharge planning and summaries as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Collaborate with the supervising Occupational Therapist to identify and obtain necessary durable medical equipment or supplies
  • Participate in interdisciplinary communication to support continuity of care
  • Maintain compliance with all state licensure requirements and continuing education
  • Collaborate with the vocational services team to support Participant goals
  • Adhere to all HIPAA and confidentiality requirements
  • Attend required meetings, trainings, and in-services as scheduled Supervision Requirements Per Colorado regulations, the OTA practices under the general supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. Supervision frequency and documentation must meet Colorado Office of Occupational Therapy Practice standards. Skills and Competencies
  • Clear and concise oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow and implement treatment plans according to Participant needs and current treatment concepts
  • Ability to relate effectively to Participants of all ages, backgrounds, and needs
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Current knowledge of laws and regulations related to Participant care
  • Ability to remain current in the skills and knowledge necessary for effective service delivery Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, assist, and physically support Participants as needed
  • Ability to stand, bend, and move for extended periods
  • Ability to travel between service locations, if required

Application Requirements Candidates must submit proof of ACOTE-accredited program completion, NBCOT certification, and current Colorado OTA license prior to start date. All credentials must remain active and in good standing throughout employment.

$30.00 - $40.00 per hour
