Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team at the West Haven Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in West Haven, Connecticut. As a vital member of our rehabilitation team, you will work closely with our licensed occupational therapists to deliver high-quality care to our patients. Key Responsibilities:
Assist licensed occupational therapists in the development and implementation of patient treatment plans, focusing on activities of daily living, cognitive, and sensory processing skills Use adaptive equipment and other assistive technologies to promote patient independence and safety Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and coordinate patient transfers Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient progress and treatment plans Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) program Current certification as a COTA, with a strong understanding of occupational therapy principles and practices Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing patient needs and tasks Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with patients, families, and healthcare professionals Strong observational and assessment skills, with a focus on patient safety and well-being How to
