Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our healthcare team to provide therapy to kids. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including skilled nursing facilities and inpatient rehabilitation. This role is essential in helping patients achieve their therapeutic goals and improve their overall quality of life through tailored treatment plans. Responsibilities Assist Occupational Therapists in implementing individualized care plans for patients. Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic exercises and activities designed to enhance mobility and daily living skills. Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising therapist. Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, exercises, and strategies for improving functional abilities. Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities and progress notes in compliance with facility policies. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care. Uphold safety protocols and infection control measures while providing care. Skills Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to effectively assist in therapeutic interventions. Experience in patient care , particularly within geriatric populations or skilled nursing facilities. Proficiency in developing and executing care plans tailored to individual patient needs. Familiarity with occupational health practices and standards. Ability to assist with medical imaging as needed for patient assessments. Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Capability to work in an inpatient setting while maintaining a compassionate approach towards patient interactions. Knowledge of therapeutic techniques relevant to the field of occupational therapy.
