In this vital role, you will work closely with licensed occupational therapists to deliver high-quality patient care across diverse settings, including inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. Your expertise will help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life through personalized therapy interventions. Responsibilities Assist licensed occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs. Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as dressing, grooming, and mobility exercises, to promote independence. Provide hands-on therapy interventions for patients across various age groups, including pediatrics and geriatrics, in inpatient, outpatient, or home health settings. Monitor patient progress and document responses to therapy interventions accurately within medical records. Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises and strategies to enhance recovery at home or in care facilities. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive and effective patient care delivery. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to all safety protocols and infection control procedures during therapy sessions. Requirements Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and occupational health principles. Experience assisting with ADLs and providing therapy in settings such as skilled nursing facilities, inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, or home health environments. Familiarity with care plans for diverse populations including pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. Ability to work effectively in inpatient or outpatient settings with a focus on patient care excellence. Strong communication skills to educate patients and collaborate with healthcare teams effectively. Prior experience in medical imaging or acute care is a plus but not required.
