Overview We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will support the delivery of personalized occupational therapy services to diverse client populations, including seniors with neurodevelopmental disorders, disabilities, and those in geriatrics or pediatric care. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help improve clients independence and quality of life through targeted therapy interventions. Duties Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote client independence. Implement treatment plans developed by licensed occupational therapists, ensuring adherence to prescribed therapies. Support pediatric occupational therapy programs focused on childhood developmental delays and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Help with patient transport within facilities or home health settings to facilitate therapy sessions and appointments. Collaborate closely with healthcare professionalsincluding therapists, nurses, and physiciansto optimize care plans. Maintain accurate care documentation, progress notes, and treatment records in compliance with healthcare regulations. Utilize knowledge of medical imaging, physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to support effective therapy delivery. Experience Previous experience working in inpatient settings such as skilled nursing facilities or hospitals is highly desirable. Hands-on experience in outpatient clinics or home health environments enhances your ability to adapt therapy techniques across various settings. Familiarity with acute care environments and skilled nursing operations is beneficial for understanding complex patient needs. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders strengthens your ability to tailor interventions effectively. Knowledge of occupational health practices and manual handling techniques ensures safe patient interactions. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients and caregivers fosters trust and promotes positive outcomes. Prior involvement in pediatric occupational therapy programs addressing childhood developmental delays or autism spectrum disorder is a plus.
