Job Description

Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Make an impact on students' lives by supporting their growth as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a dynamic school environment. This contract position places you alongside dedicated educators and therapists, enabling you to help students reach their fullest potential through individualized and group interventions. You'll collaborate closely with occupational therapists and educational staff to provide services that promote success in both classroom and everyday activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program Current certification as a COTA required Active state licensure (or eligibility) Experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations highly preferred Strong communication skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and families Ability to follow individualized education plans (IEPs) and document student progress
Responsibilities:
Deliver direct therapy services under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, adapting strategies to individual student needs Support classroom and school-based activities by reinforcing fine motor, sensory, and self-help skills Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with educational staff to promote student achievement Maintain accurate records detailing student response and progress towards established goals Contribute creative solutions that foster participation, independence, and access to learning environments Assist with screening and assessment activities as needed
