Responsibilities Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to support independence and functional recovery Implement treatment plans designed by occupational therapists for patients with neurodevelopmental disorders, geriatrics, pediatrics, or disabilities Support patients during therapy sessions by preparing equipment and ensuring safety through manual handling and patient transport Contribute to the development and adjustment of care plans based on patient progress and feedback Provide specialized occupational therapy assistance for clients with autism and childhood developmental delays Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities, progress notes, and treatment outcomes in compliance with healthcare standards Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in acute care, inpatient facilities, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, and home health settings Skills Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to occupational therapy practices Experience assisting with ADLs and implementing care plans for diverse populations Familiarity with medical terminology and medical imaging as it relates to patient assessments Proven ability to work with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders or disabilities across various age groups Skilled in patient transport, manual handling techniques, and ensuring safety during therapy activities Knowledge of occupational therapy approaches for clients with autism or childhood developmental delays Prior experience in inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics or home health environments is highly desirable This role is ideal for motivated professionals eager to advance their career in healthcare while making a tangible difference.
