Position Summary We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and collaborative Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our growing team on a part-time basis. Key Responsibilities The COTA will be responsible for providing high-quality therapeutic services including, but not limited to:
Direct Intervention:
Deliver individual and small-group occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of the registered Occupational Therapist to improve fine motor, gross motor, sensory processing, visual-motor, and self-care skills.
Montessori Collaboration:
Partner with Montessori educators to integrate therapeutic strategies into daily classroom routines, ensuring activities align with the child's developmental needs and classroom flow.
Progress Tracking:
Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive documentation of daily therapy sessions, progress notes, and developmental milestones in compliance with regulatory and clinic standards.
Environment Adaptation:
Assist in modifying classroom spaces or activities to promote optimal participation, accessibility, and independence for students with diverse needs.
Caregiver & Staff Education:
Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and caregivers to provide home/classroom strategies that reinforce therapeutic goals.
Qualifications & Requirements Education:
Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Licensure & Certification:
Current Florida state license as a COTA and NBCOT certification. First Aid/CPR certification required.
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of pediatric experience preferred. Familiarity with the Montessori philosophy is a significant plus.
