Position Details Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours/week preferred
Shifts:
8- or 10-hour shifts
Weekend Requirement:
Approximately 2 weekend shifts per month (Saturday OR Sunday)
Holiday Requirement:
Rotating holiday coverage
On-Call:
No on-call requirement Pay $26.80 - $40.20/hour Pay is based on years of experience. About the Role Sarasota Memorial Hospital is seeking an Acute Care Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join its inpatient rehabilitation team. The OTA will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist and provide patient care based on the established plan of treatment. This is a fast-paced acute care hospital environment where OTAs will work with a wide variety of adult inpatient populations, including Trauma, Neurology, Orthopedics, Cardiac, Respiratory, and other acute care diagnoses . OTAs will have a home-base unit and patient population but will frequently rotate throughout the hospital to gain experience across different units and patient populations. OTAs typically see approximately 10-12 patients per day . Must-Haves Current Florida Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) license Associate of Science degree Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred New graduates are welcome to apply; however, candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced acute care hospital environment . What to Expect This position requires OTAs to: Work under the OT's established plan of care rather than independently modifying or initiating treatment. Maintain same-day documentation and accurate charting . Be comfortable with a productivity-focused environment. Communicate effectively with the supervising OT and interdisciplinary care team. Adapt to treating patients across different inpatient units and diagnoses. Demonstrate a strong commitment to patient-centered and evidence-based care. Why This Opportunity?
