Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Full-Time or PRN! In this vital role, you will partner with licensed occupational therapists to deliver exceptional patient care. Your expertise will help clients achieve their highest level of independence and quality of life. Duties Assist in implementing personalized treatment plans designed by occupational therapists to promote functional independence. Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, dressing, feeding, and mobility. Help facilitate patient transport within facilities or to external appointments while ensuring safety through manual handling techniques. Document care activities accurately and thoroughly in compliance with healthcare standards and care plans. Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals—including physicians, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and caregivers—to optimize patient outcomes. Contribute to care documentation updates, progress notes, and discharge summaries to ensure seamless communication across the care team. Experience Prior experience working in acute care settings such as hospitals or emergency departments is highly desirable. Demonstrated background in outpatient clinics or skilled nursing facilities with exposure to inpatient and outpatient therapy services. Hands-on experience assisting clients with disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or geriatrics is essential. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical imaging enhances your ability to support treatment plans effectively. Familiarity with home health environments and occupational health settings broadens your versatility as a COTA. Proven ability to communicate effectively with clients and caregivers ensures compassionate support and education throughout the therapy process.
Florida Background Screening Requirement:
This position requires a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Clearinghouse in accordance with Florida law.
