Occupational Therapist Assistant Position! Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Occupational Therapist Assistant, where you will play a vital role in supporting patients' journey toward improved independence and well-being. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will work closely with other therapists to implement personalized care plans across the skilled nursing facility. Your expertise will help patients achieve their therapeutic goals through compassionate, skilled assistance with daily activities and functional recovery. Responsibilities Assist licensed occupational therapists in developing and executing individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs. Support patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility exercises to promote independence. Provide hands-on assistance during therapy sessions within skilled nursing facility. Help monitor patient progress by documenting responses to therapy interventions and communicating updates to the supervising therapist. Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, adaptive techniques, and safety measures to enhance recovery at home or in the community. Contribute to the preparation of treatment areas and ensure all equipment aligns with safety standards and clinical protocols. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—including physicians, nurses, and social workers—to optimize patient care outcomes. Skills Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and occupational health principles essential for effective patient support. Experience assisting with ADLs across diverse populations Ability to interpret care plans accurately and adapt interventions accordingly while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Excellent communication skills for educating patients and working seamlessly within multidisciplinary teams. Demonstrated understanding of patient care procedures in both inpatient and outpatient contexts with a focus on safety and compassion. Prior experience working in skilled nursing facilities or outpatient clinics is preferred; certification as an Occupational Therapist Assistant is required.
