We're looking for a pediatric COTA to join our Amity Point team and help us expand our after-school availability so we can serve more of our amazing families. At Amity Point, we believe the best therapy happens when kids feel safe, supported, engaged, and—most importantly—like themselves. We're a child-led, play-based pediatric practice where following a child's interests is part of the therapy, not a distraction from it. What You'll Do You'll work primarily with children ages 1-18, with many of our kiddos working on sensory processing and related occupational therapy needs.
Your sessions may include:
Following the child's interests and using those interests to build meaningful therapeutic activities Play-based occupational therapy Sensory activities and sensory-based interventions Supporting children in developing skills for participation and independence Building positive, trusting relationships with children and families Collaborating with the Amity Point team to help each child succeed Documenting therapy services and progress Bringing creativity, flexibility, and a sense of humor to your sessions We want therapy to feel purposeful and fun. If you can get on the floor, follow a child's lead, turn almost anything into a therapeutic activity, and laugh with your kiddos, you'll probably fit right in here. What We're Looking For Our ideal COTA is: Licensed/certified as a COTA and eligible to practice in Iowa Experienced in pediatric occupational therapy Great with kids Comfortable with a child-led, play-based approach Interested in sensory processing and pediatric development Creative, flexible, and willing to think outside the box Dependable and professional A strong communicator and team player A little goofy—because sometimes that's exactly what a kid needs! Schedule & Compensation Part-time / PRN Monday-Thursday, approximately 3:00-6:00 PM Approximately 12-15 hours per week $28-$34/hour, based on experience Start date: ASAP This position is designed to help us offer more after-school appointments to families who need them, while also providing an opportunity for the right person to grow with Amity Point. Why Amity Point? Because we really are a team. We support one another, celebrate progress, problem-solve together, and genuinely want both our therapists and our kiddos to succeed. You won't be expected to figure everything out on your own. Amanda Godwin, OTD, will provide supervision and support as you grow into the role. And if you're looking for more than a part-time position long-term, there is opportunity to grow into a full-time role with health benefits. Ready to Join Us? If you're an awesome pediatric COTA who thinks this sounds like your kind of place, we'd love to hear from you.
