Position Overview:
Deliver occupational therapy interventions as outlined in the treatment plan developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist. Assist residents with therapeutic exercises and functional activities aimed at improving independence in activities of daily living (ADLs) and mobility. Monitor resident responses during treatment sessions and communicate progress, concerns, or changes to the Occupational Therapist. Support the use of adaptive equipment and provide instruction to residents and caregivers to promote safe and effective use. Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging therapeutic environment that fosters resident participation and comfort. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to care planning discussions to ensure coordinated, resident-centered care Accurately document treatment sessions, resident progress, and observations in accordance with facility policies and state and federal regulations. Adhere to HIPAA guidelines, infection control protocols, and OSHA standards to ensure regulatory compliance and resident safety. Education Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program Current state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Experience 1-2 years of experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric care setting preferred Familiarity with PDPM and SNF documentation standards is a plus
