Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Step into an impactful role supporting students across multiple sites as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a dynamic educational setting near Cambridge, MA. This contract position runs from September 2nd through June 15th, engaging with a diverse K-12 student population. With a four-day workweek, you'll collaborate closely with therapists and educators to deliver quality therapeutic interventions that empower students to reach their fullest potential.
Qualifications:
Completed a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) program and hold current licensure in Massachusetts. Previous experience in school-based settings is highly valued. Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams. Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable supporting students at a variety of grade levels across multiple schools. Proficient in implementing individualized education program (IEP) goals under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to K-12 students as outlined in IEPs. Work collaboratively with occupational therapists to deliver interventions aimed at enhancing students' academic access and functional independence. Document progress, maintain appropriate records, and participate in team meetings with educators and families. Support students in developing motor skills, self-care routines, and sensory processing strategies. Travel between assigned sites to ensure consistent and comprehensive support services.
