Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or Registered Occupational Therapist Northeast Rehab Associates inc - 4.5 Longmeadow, MA Job Details Full-time $23 - $36 an hour 1 hour ago Benefits Health insurance Flexible schedule Qualifications Teamwork BLS Certification Occupational Therapy COTA Time management Full Job Description Occupational Therapist (OTR) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Northeast Rehab Associates are seeking a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapist (OTR) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our interdisciplinary rehabilitation team at Sosin Rehabilitation Center of JGS Lifecare. Our 24-bed subacute care unit serves older adults recovering from illness, injury, surgery, and hospitalization. Patients present with a variety of physical disabilities and functional challenges. This position offers the opportunity to help residents regain independence, improve safety, and return to meaningful daily activities. Responsibilities Evaluate and treat residents with a range of orthopedic, neurological, cardiac, pulmonary, and age-related conditions. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on activities of daily living, functional mobility, strength, endurance, coordination, cognition, and safety. Provide training in adaptive equipment, compensatory strategies, energy conservation, and fall prevention. Educate residents, families, and caregivers regarding safe techniques and discharge recommendations. Collaborate with physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, nurses, physicians, social workers, and other members of the care team. Participate in care planning, interdisciplinary meetings, and discharge planning. Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with facility, state, and federal requirements. Maintain a safe, supportive, and resident-centered treatment environment. For COTA applicants, provide treatment under the direction and supervision of a licensed occupational therapist. Qualifications OTR Applicants Degree from an accredited occupational therapy program. Current occupational therapist license in the state of practice. Current NBCOT certification, as required. Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain it. COTA Applicants Degree from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program. Current occupational therapy assistant license in the state of practice. Current NBCOT certification, as required. Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain it. Preferred Experience Experience in subacute rehabilitation, skilled nursing, geriatrics, or another post-acute care setting. Knowledge of common conditions affecting older adults and their functional independence. Strong clinical judgment, communication, documentation, and time-management skills. A collaborative approach and genuine commitment to serving older adults. New graduates with a strong interest in geriatric rehabilitation are encouraged to apply.
Pay:
$23.00 - $36.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
