Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic role supporting students across multiple K-12 sites as a contract Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) near Lowell, MA. This rewarding opportunity runs from September 2nd through June 15th, offering the chance to work closely with school-based teams to deliver critical therapy services that help students thrive academically and socially. In this role, you'll engage with a diverse range of students and collaborate with faculty and families to address each child's unique needs, all while enjoying a consistent four-day work week.
Desired Qualifications:
Active COTA certification and current license to practice in Massachusetts Demonstrated experience or strong interest in school-based occupational therapy settings Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, staff, and families Ability to adapt to different school sites and student populations Familiarity with IEP documentation and goal tracking is preferred
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of an OTR, focusing on student success within the educational environment Assist in evaluating student skills, tracking progress, and documenting therapy sessions Support the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborate on multidisciplinary teams Offer strategies and recommendations to teachers and families for student support at school and home Navigate multiple K-12 campuses, demonstrating flexibility and professionalism
