As an Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA), you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our patients.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our therapy team. As a COTA, you will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to provide treatment to patients with various physical and cognitive impairments. You will design and implement treatment plans, conduct assessments, and provide training to patients and their caregivers.
Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day treatment to patients, including training in self-care, functional transfers, functional ambulation, home living skills, perceptual and cognitive activities, and strengthening, balance, and coordination activities. Communicate with other disciplines and interact with staff as necessary to enhance interdisciplinary team rapport and improve patient care. Document treatment plans, patient progress, and changes to treatments in a timely manner according to policy. Supervise rehab and restorative aids regarding patient treatments, ROM, restorative feeding groups, and positioning of patients. Record and submit required documentation and treatment charges according to policy and procedure. Meet department standards for completion of discharge charts, including FIMS, home treatment programs, and equipment recommendations following discharge.
Requirements:
Current MA State License as an Occupational Therapy Assistant Graduate of an AOTA-approved Occupational Therapy Assistant Program Must comply with state, federal, and AOTA standards of practice when planning and carrying out treatment programs and other functions of an occupational therapy assistant. High school diploma or equivalent required 0 years of experience required
