Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Location:
White Plains, MD 20695
Job Type:
Contract - 13 Weeks (Possible Extension)
Shift:
8:00 AM - 4:00
PM Pay:
$37.00/
Hour Travel Pay:
Available for qualified travelers living 50+ miles from the facility
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide quality occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT). The COTA will assist patients in developing, improving, and restoring functional independence while following the established plan of care and all applicable regulations and facility guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement occupational therapy interventions according to the OT's established plan of care. Assist patients with activities designed to improve functional abilities and independence. Monitor and document patient progress accurately and in a timely manner. Assist with patient and family education regarding therapy goals, exercises, and functional activities. Communicate patient status, progress, and concerns to the supervising OT. Maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation. Follow all facility safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate effectively with therapists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals. Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining professional standards.
Requirements:
Active COTA License in the state of Maryland or ability to obtain. Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA/COTA) program . Minimum 6 months of COTA experience . BLS Certification required. Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-care skills. Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a licensed OT. Why Consider This Opportunity? Travel pay available for eligible candidates residing more than 50 miles from the facility.
