Job Description

General Summary:
PRN Position (as needed) with weekday availability required and occasional Saturdays Under guidance of an Occupational Therapist, will evaluate, assessment of standardized tests, develops and implements treatment programs in occupational therapy to rehabilitate victims of injury and/or illness and to prevent complications of current status. Evaluates success of treatment, provides documentation, adapting program to meet patients needs and progress. Instructs and supervises patients, family and staff members on therapeutic procedures which are carried out on patient units and will be necessary for a safe discharge home. Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities 1. Accurately screens, evaluates and treats patients to ensure that patients admitted for treatment receive needed therapy services and service delivery is documented appropriately. 2. Supervises and trains staff members in occupational therapy techniques to facilitate carry over in patient care and continuity. A. Provides documentation that meets the following criteria: B. Is accurate, concise and complete. C. Minimizes duplication D. Reflects a clear picture of the patient's problems, the therapists' intervention and outcomes E. Meets governmental regulatory and payor requirements. 3. Ensures that service complies with facility policies and procedures. 4. Communicates effectively with physicians, team members, care partners and patients regarding patient problems, progress. 5. Completes mandatory facility in-services. 6. Participates in development in services programs related to specialty for appropriate team members. 7. Coordinates services with other therapy disciplines. 8. Is available for rotating weekend and holiday schedules. 9. Attends and participates in continuing education. 10. Checks condition of equipment on a regular basis, reporting problems 11. Ensures work areas (including refrigerator) are clean, equipment disinfected on a regular basis 12. Is knowledgeable regarding the National Patient Safety Goals 13. Demonstrates knowledge in Employee Safety
REQUIREMENTS / EXPERIENCE
General understanding of occupational therapy and medical terminology. Strong patient care skills. Associate's Degree in therapy from accredited school
Pay:
