Others are ready for more variety. In home health, every patient and every environment is different. One visit might involve helping a patient safely complete their morning dressing routine. The next could focus on bathroom safety and adaptive equipment. Another patient may need help rebuilding fine motor skills, coordination, or confidence following hospitalization. You'll take the skills you've already developed as a COTA and apply them to real-life situations with immediate practical value. Your Treatment Has a Direct Connection to Independence When you're working in someone's home, functional goals take on a different meaning. Improved coordination can mean preparing a meal independently. Better transfer technique can mean safely getting into the shower. Adaptive equipment can mean relying less on a spouse or caregiver. Improved endurance can mean completing an entire morning routine without assistance. You'll see exactly why the treatment plan matters to the person you're treating. What You'll Be Doing Implement individualized treatment plans developed by licensed Occupational Therapists. Provide one-on-one Occupational Therapy treatment in patient homes. Address activities of daily living and functional independence. Guide patients through fine motor, coordination, strengthening, cognitive, and functional activities. Educate patients and caregivers on safety strategies. Reinforce adaptive equipment recommendations and home modifications. Monitor patient response and communicate progress to the supervising OTR/L. Collaborate with PTs, PTAs, nurses, physicians, and other interdisciplinary clinicians. Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation. Your Current COTA Experience Can Translate We're interested in COTAs coming from Skilled Nursing, Inpatient Rehabilitation, Outpatient Therapy, Transitional Care, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Long-Term Care, and Home Health. Previous home health experience is preferred, but we're also interested in motivated COTAs who are ready to take their clinical skills into a more independent environment. What We're Looking For Active Minnesota Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license Valid driver's license and insured, reliable transportation Strong patient communication and relationship-building abilities Ability to work independently in patient homes Strong organization and time-management skills Comfortable traveling throughout an assigned Greater Twin Cities territory Home health experience preferred Experience with geriatric or medically complex patients welcomed More Variety During the Week.
