Position Summary We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our new autism therapy team. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to implement individualized treatment plans that promote sensory regulation, fine motor development, self-care skills, social participation, and independence in daily living. Responsibilities Implement occupational therapy treatment plans as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist. Provide engaging, individualized therapy sessions for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. Assist children in developing fine motor, visual motor, sensory processing, self-care, and daily living skills. Accurately document treatment sessions, progress, and patient responses in a timely manner. Collaborate with occupational therapists, behavior analysts, speech therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members. Educate and support parents and caregivers by demonstrating home activities and strategies. Maintain a safe, organized, and therapeutic treatment environment. Participate in team meetings, continuing education, and professional development activities. Qualifications Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Current Missouri Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification. CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire). Experience working with children is preferred. Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder, sensory integration, or pediatric therapy is highly preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, child-centered environment. Preferred Skills Knowledge of sensory processing and sensory integration techniques. Experience implementing pediatric occupational therapy interventions. Ability to build positive relationships with children and families. Creativity, patience, flexibility, and enthusiasm. Experience using electronic medical records (EMR) for documentation.
