Desired Qualifications:
Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program Current certification as a COTA (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) Licensed or eligible for COTA licensure in Mississippi Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred Knowledge of developing and implementing IEP goals and documentation standards Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills Ability to adapt to a fast-paced educational environment and work collaboratively with educators, therapists, and families
Essential Responsibilities:
Deliver occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist Provide direct therapy sessions to students, focusing on fine motor, sensory integration, daily living skills, and classroom participation Assist in assessment and data collection to monitor student progress Support individualized education program (IEP) development and implementation Collaborate with special education staff and families to maximize student success Maintain detailed and compliant documentation according to school and state guidelines Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings and professional development opportunities Bring your passion for helping students reach their fullest potential to a school-based role where every day presents new opportunities for growth and impact.
