Work collaboratively with educators and occupational therapists to empower children to reach their fullest potential in both academic and social settings.
Key Qualifications:
Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Experience working in a school environment preferred Knowledge of individualized education plans (IEP) and ability to support student goals Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary staff Ability to adapt services to meet the diverse needs of students Flexibility and organizational skills to manage caseloads and documentation
Primary Responsibilities:
Support the implementation of occupational therapy plans under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist Deliver direct interventions to students to advance fine motor, sensory processing, and daily living skills Assist with evaluations and provide insightful input for progress reports, IEP meetings, and goal planning Collaborate with teachers and school personnel to integrate therapy activities into classroom routines Maintain thorough and timely documentation of student progress and sessions Participate in school meetings and professional development opportunities as needed
