Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising OT to help residents achieve their rehabilitation goals. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, bathing, grooming, feeding, and toileting. Administer therapeutic activities, exercises, and modalities to improve fine motor skills, upper extremity function, coordination, and strength. Train residents on the use of adaptive equipment, assistive devices, and compensatory techniques to promote independence. Explains procedures and treatments to gain residents' cooperation and allay apprehension. Monitor resident progress and communicate observations and treatment outcomes to the supervising OT. Maintains residents' medical records with thorough documentation of treatments provided, progress notes, and response to therapy. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care and successful achievement of rehabilitation goals. Educate residents and their families on therapeutic techniques, safety precautions, and strategies to maintain progress after discharge. Observes emotional stability of residents, expresses interest in their progress, and prepares them for continuing care after discharge. Perform other duties as required to provide exceptional care to each resident. What You Need Active unencumbered licensure or certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in North Carolina. Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. NBCOT certification preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Highly organized and detail oriented. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
