Qualifications & Experience:
Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program Active COTA certification and state licensure (or eligibility) Prior experience working with pediatric populations, especially in K-12 schools, is strongly preferred Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to working with children of diverse backgrounds and abilities Familiarity with IEP processes and therapeutic interventions in educational environments
Key Responsibilities:
Implement personalized occupational therapy treatment plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist Provide direct therapy services to students, adapting techniques to meet individual needs Document student progress and maintain detailed records as required by school policy and regulations Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support student goals Assist with screenings, assessments, and data collection to inform intervention strategies Contribute ideas and energy to the therapy team, fostering a positive environment for students Make a real impact while enjoying the flexibility of a contract position in a dynamic educational community near Sylva, NC.
