Overview We are seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will support occupational therapists in delivering high-quality care to diverse patient populations, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders. Your energetic and compassionate approach will help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life across inpatient, outpatient, home health, and skilled nursing settings. Responsibilities Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as grooming, dressing, and mobility to promote patient independence Implement treatment plans designed by occupational therapists for clients with various conditions including childhood developmental delays and autism spectrum disorder Support pediatric occupational therapy sessions focused on childhood developmental delays and neurodevelopmental disorders Help with patient transport within healthcare facilities to ensure safe movement during therapy sessions or transfers Maintain accurate care documentation and progress notes in compliance with healthcare regulations Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to adapt treatment strategies based on patient progress and needs Use manual handling techniques safely when assisting patients with mobility or transfers in accordance with physiology and anatomy knowledge Experience Prior experience working in inpatient settings such as hospitals or skilled nursing facilities is highly desirable Experience in outpatient clinics or home health environments will be advantageous Hands-on experience assisting with medical imaging procedures is a plus but not required Demonstrated ability to work with individuals of all ages, especially pediatrics and geriatrics Knowledge of medical terminology, care plans, and documentation standards related to occupational therapy Familiarity with treating clients with disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or cerebral palsy is preferred Strong communication skills for engaging effectively with clients, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams Join us to make a meaningful difference by helping patients achieve their goals through compassionate, expert occupational therapy support!
