Job Description

Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) within both high school and elementary school settings near Albuquerque, NM. This position is ideal for professionals passionate about making a positive impact on students' development and academic success, with the chance to work across a wide age range from PreK to 12th grade. The upcoming assignment spans the full academic year, beginning August 3, 2026, and concluding May 28, 2027. Your workweek will be structured Monday through Friday, totaling 40 hours, with daily hours from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Active COTA license in the state of New Mexico (or ability to obtain prior to start) At least one year of experience in school-based pediatric occupational therapy preferred Proficient in adapting OT techniques for both younger elementary and older high school students Excellent communication skills with ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams Comfortable traveling between school buildings as needed
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver targeted occupational therapy interventions to students from PreK through 12th grade Support the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in the educational environment Work closely with occupational therapists, teachers, and school staff to promote student independence and participation Assist in evaluations, documentation, and progress monitoring to ensure effective therapy outcomes Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages student growth at all ability levels If you're passionate about empowering students and eager to contribute to a dynamic school community while advancing your career as a COTA, this is your chance to make a meaningful difference. to start your next rewarding assignment for the upcoming school year!
