We serve children from infancy through young adulthood (21 years) and foster professional growth among our team members through ongoing development opportunities. Overview We are seeking a skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our pediatric clinic. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pediatric occupational therapy, including experience working with children with neurodevelopmental disorders and disabilities. This role involves implementing treatment plans, assisting with daily activities, and collaborating closely with healthcare professionals, caregivers, and clients to promote optimal developmental outcomes. Duties Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans for pediatric clients with conditions such as autism, childhood developmental delays, and other neurodevelopmental disorders. Support children in activities of daily living (ADLs) to enhance independence and functional skills. Collaborate with occupational therapists and other healthcare professionals to develop and modify care strategies tailored to each child's needs. Facilitate therapy sessions that incorporate manual handling techniques, sensory integration, and motor skill development within outpatient or inpatient settings. Document client progress accurately in care records while ensuring compliance with medical terminology standards and confidentiality protocols. Assist with patient transport within the clinic or home health visits as needed, ensuring safety during mobility tasks. Engage in caregiver communication to educate families about therapy goals, progress, and home-based activities that support ongoing development. Qualifications Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with current licensure or registration as required by state regulations. Prior experience working with pediatric populations, particularly children with neurodevelopmental delays or disabilities preferred. Knowledge of pediatric occupational therapy techniques, including treatment plan implementation and care documentation. Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and the use of medical imaging when relevant to client assessments. Experience working in outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, inpatient settings, or home health environments is preferred. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients' families and multidisciplinary teams. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while supporting children during therapy activities. Demonstrated understanding of childhood developmental milestones and occupational therapy for clients with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Pay range is dependent on experience and treatment hours worked.
