Job Summary Rehab Services of Nevada - Elko is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate PRN (as needed) or Part-Time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team. We provide both inpatient and out-patient services inside of the Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in occupational therapy across diverse settings, including pediatrics, geriatrics, inpatient and outpatient. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting patients of all ages with various disabilities and developmental needs through evidence-based practices, personalized treatment plans, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent patient care skills, clinical documentation proficiency, and a commitment to improving client outcomes. Hours are flexible and pay is competitive and based on experience. Duties Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and quality of life. Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs and goals. (Applies to OTs only) Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' functional abilities, including occupational therapy assessments for pediatrics and adults. (Applies to OTs only) Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including speech therapists, physical therapists, case managers, and educators—to coordinate care and discharge planning. Support clients with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorders by applying evidence-based interventions. Maintain accurate medical documentation within electronic health records (EHR), ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and regulations. Participate in case management activities, including discharge planning and progress reporting to optimize patient outcomes. Provide education to patients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic strategies, adaptive techniques, and safety measures. Requirements Valid licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapist or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). Experience working with individuals with disabilities across various settings such as pediatric clinics, skilled nursing facilities, inpatient units, outpatient clinics, schools or home health environments. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and clinical documentation standards. Demonstrated ability to assist with ADLs and develop effective treatment plans based on client needs. Experience working with children with disabilities—including early intervention programs—and students with special education needs is highly desirable. Familiarity with occupational therapy assessments and implementing evidence-based occupational therapy programs. (Applies to OTs only) Strong communication skills for client interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration. Acute care experience—such as ICU or inpatient hospital settings—is preferred but not required. Ability to work independently in a PRN or part-time capacity while maintaining high standards of patient care.
