Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties Assist licensed occupational therapists in developing and implementing personalized care plans for patients across various settings. Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility exercises, to promote independence. Conduct therapeutic activities and interventions aimed at improving motor skills, coordination, and functional abilities. Monitor patient progress, document responses to therapy, and communicate updates to the healthcare team. Educate patients and their families on home health strategies and safety measures to ensure continuity of care post-discharge. Maintain accurate medical records, treatment logs, and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations. Support multidisciplinary teams by providing insights into patients' physiological responses, anatomy considerations, and medical terminology relevant to occupational therapy. Qualifications Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program. Prior experience in inpatient or outpatient settings is highly preferred; experience in skilled nursing facilities or home health is a plus. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and occupational health principles. Demonstrated ability to assist with ADLs and implement care plans effectively across diverse patient populations including pediatrics and geriatrics. Familiarity with acute care environments and clinic-based therapy services. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to supporting recovery and independence.
