Occupational Therapy Assistant:
The occupational therapy assistant assists in the implementation of the rehabilitative plan of care under the direction and supervision of a qualified occupational therapist.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an approved Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current licensure as an occupational therapy assistant in the state of Ohio.
  • Preferably has 1 year prior experience as an occupational therapy assistant.
Responsibilities:
  • Under the supervision of the occupational therapist, assists in evaluation and development of the rehabilitative plan of care.
  • As directed by the occupational therapist, guides and instructs the client in prescribed therapeutic self-care, and creative activities directed toward improving client independence and functioning.
  • Assists the client in the use of self-help devices.
  • Consults and informs occupational therapist regarding the outcome of home visits and reports physical findings.
  • Attends care conferences and Agency meetings as necessary.
  • Writes clinical/ progress notes describing all care services and submits them weekly.
Organizational Relationship:
  • Reports directly to the Director of Rehabilitation and Therapy.
Functional Abilities:
  • Must be able to read 12 point type or larger.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in a manner understood by most persons.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend and be able to lift and transfer clients.
  • Must be able to travel to client's residences.
Special requirements:
  • Must have a reliable car, car insurance and a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check.
Job Type:
Full-time/Part-time/PRN Salary:
$40/point
Sign-On Bonus:
$6k for full time hires only
