The COTA helps individuals improve their ability to perform everyday activities in accordance with company standards and federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. The COTA's goals are to rehabilitate and educate the patient to regain and retain their independence in their home setting.
COTA Responsibilities:
Implement treatment plans and a schedule to meet established short- and long-term goals, collaborating with supervising therapists and the interdisciplinary team. Communicate evaluation findings, treatment plans, and recommendations to residents, families, and caregivers, ensuring a clear understanding of the care process. Document and bill for occupational therapy services, maintaining compliance with all CMS standards and ensuring accurate point-of-care records. Coordinate with other team members to establish and manage resident therapy schedules. Provide effective patient care and perform additional duties as required to support resident treatment goals. Monitor and document patient progress toward goals, adjusting the treatment plan in collaboration with the patient and interdisciplinary team. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on diagnoses, prognosis, home exercise programs, adaptive techniques, and the use of assistive devices. Ensure timely and accurate documentation of all patient encounters, evaluations, treatment plans, and progress in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. Assess the home environment to recommend modifications and durable medical equipment that enhance patient safety and independence. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the enhancement of department processes and overall patient outcomes. Manage workload efficiently to meet or exceed established productivity targets without compromising the quality of care

Qualification, Education and Experience:
Requires degree from an occupational therapy assistant program from an accredited source. Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted Occupational Therapy license in all applicable states of practice. Base Pay:
$30.00 - $45.00 per hour
